About this shirt
This authentic Celtic F.C. away shirt highlights the highly innovative "Total 90" design philosophy deployed by Nike during the mid-2000s. Moving away from the club's traditional hoops for their change kit, this template presents a vibrant, solid emerald green body punctuated by stark white mesh accent side panels, a distinct white-trimmed rounded crew neck, and subtle white paneling under the arms. The iconic club crest is meticulously embroidered directly over the center chest beneath a single golden star, balanced perfectly by a bright yellow embroidered Nike Swoosh on the upper right chest. Across the center, the classic bold Carling sponsor text application stands out in high contrast. The reverse features an official, vintage velvet SPL nameset carefully applied for the legendary Bulgarian midfielder Stilian Petrov.
The story behind the shirt
2005/06 in context
The 2005-06 season marked a historic new era for the Bhoys as manager Gordon Strachan took the reins at Celtic Park. The squad put together an exceptional domestic campaign, bouncing back dynamically to lift both the Scottish Premier League title and the Scottish League Cup. This green away jersey is forever synonymous with midfield engine Stilian "Stan" Petrov. Known for his tireless energy, defensive grit, and fierce long-range striking capability, Petrov scored 10 vital goals in 37 appearances across this specific campaign before departing as a true fan favorite.
